Mountain View School District Approves Purchase of Site to Serve Neighborhood Families. New School Integrates with Smart New Infrastructure Throughout Ontario Ranch.
ONTARIO RANCH, CA – (April 10, 2024) In a landmark collaboration between Brookfield Residential and Mountain View School District (MVSD), the school district has announced its approval of a land purchase agreement for the building of a new elementary school. The new elementary school (TK-6) will serve the masterplanned community of New Haven and families in surrounding areas. It will be the 5th elementary school in the district which also includes Grace Yokley Junior High School (grades 7-8).
The new school property is 10.4 acres near the corner of La Avenida Drive and Turner Avenue, approximately two blocks north of the New Haven community center. The name for the new school has not yet been determined and opening is anticipated to occur in August 2026, according to school officials. In addition to families living within the New Haven masterplan, the new school will serve those in adjacent communities.
“With the coming of a completely new, state-of-the-art school, Mountain View School District fulfills an educational promise to the community,” said Superintendent Dr. Douglass Moss. “There are many new families in the district. Our dedicated and experienced staff of teachers, administrators and support is growing as well. The new school extends our commitment that each child is safe and is provided an education of the highest quality.”
Currently students living in New Haven attend Park View elementary school south of New Haven. The new school will be within immediate walking distance of many of these students. It will accommodate approximately 850 students.

The new school announcement comes as Brookfield Residential is launching two new neighborhoods in its New Haven community in Ontario. The neighborhoods are Row (210 modern townhomes) and Dwell (88 single-family homes) opening for sale with models in May of this year. These homes are adjacent to New Haven Marketplace and are also walkable to the planned new school.
