Calling all runners! Sign up now to support the Alvord Education Foundation’s second annual Spirit Run 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, February 27th in Riverside. Enjoy games, music, performances, giveaways, plus a free Health and Wellness Fair. The 5K is $25 for adults, $8 for students and when you register before February 4th, a t-shirt is included. The foundation provides scholarships to students and grants to teachers and school sites. Rain or shine, be there at 7:30 a.m. when the event kicks off!

Don’t Miss Living History Flying Day in Chino!
Aviation enthusiasts, mark your calendar! On Saturday, February 4th, the Planes of Fame Air Museum presents its monthly Living History Flying Day, featuring the Lockheed P-38 Lightning. This special event that honors aviation pioneers and educates the public, features a distinguished panel of experts and historians. The Lockheed P-38 Lightning will be on display and perform a flight demonstration. The event is from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and the museum opens at 9 a.m. See you there!
Costco is coming to Eastvale!
There is exciting news for Costco fans! Eastvale will be the site of a brand new 158,000-square-foot retail warehouse. This new Costco will be conveniently located at the Goodman Commerce Center and will feature a gas station, tire center and state-of-the-art self-service car wash. It will also offer the customary array of fresh produce and meats, alcoholic beverages, household goods, electronics and more!

Make a Difference and Participate in the Holiday Smiles Toy Drive
This holiday season you can help brighten the life of a child in need. One in four children in our region lives in poverty, and many families are struggling to meet their most basic needs like food and shelter. Please make a difference this year by donating a new toy during the “Holiday Smiles Toy Drive” in association with Inland Empire United Way’s Community Programs. Holiday Smiles are being collected from November 4th through December 10th at various locations from Ontario to Upland.

The Christmas on Euclid Tree Lighting Ceremony is December 2nd from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., the perfect event to kick off the holiday season. Bring your lawn chair or blanket and enjoy screenings of A Muppets Christmas – Letters to Santa and Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas. There will also be food, vendors, fun and an appearance by Santa!
Ontario Airport offers Direct Flights to Asia
Local residents who frequently travel to Asia to visit family or conduct business can now fly directly from Ontario International Airport to Asia. These new flights offer a tremendous convenience to travelers and an exciting alternative to LAX. In other important economic news for the Inland Empire, Chinese businesses are showing interest in bringing manufacturing to the area due to the strong labor force and deep cultural ties to the Asian community.
